I’m looking forward to participating in Philly Give Camp this weekend and very curious to see what kind of scope and quality can be achieved in 48-odd hours. The Day 1 schedule reads: 2:00 PM Begin participant check-in, 4:30 PM Introduce event, 5:30 PM Teams forming and the CODING BEGINS!
Official copy on the event:
GiveCamp is a weekend-long event where technology professionals – from designers, developers and database administrators to marketers and web strategists – donate their time to provide solutions for non-profit organizations. Some organizations may need a new website or a renewal of an old one. For others, GiveCamp helps them make the leap from Excel spreadsheets to true donor databases. And for still others, this is an opportunity to think strategically, with the help of a consultant, about their social media presence or e-mail marketing. This is about matching the needs of non-profits with the talent of our local technology-loving community. [More... ]
The intent of the event is great – important and direct – and for some of the non-profits with minimal infrastructure, a leg-up to a digital presence that can help with fund raising, organizing and outreach.
